Now, Pinocchio is getting to opportunity to be reimagined. South Korean developer Round8 Studio recently dropped a trailer for Lies of P, a Dark Souls style game with the fairy tale icon as the main character.

Details provided with the trailer read:

“As the puppet mechanoid Pinocchio, you will wind your way through the streets of a ruined city, crafting weapons from the materials you find in the world, and interacting with the remaining few who manage to survive in this pre-industrial hellscape. The more you lie, the more human you become, with all the advantages and disadvantages that it entails.”

In the story, Pinocchio lives in an idyllic world along with his father, Gepetto. The circumstances in the game are much different. The character marches down cobblestone streets and it faced with danger on every corner.

The title has also reached deep inside the story’s mythos to create a unique lying system. The lies Pinocchio tells during the course of the game can have a dramatic affect on his circumstances.

The is yet to be a solid release date for the game. It isn’t expected to debut, however, until 2023. When is does come out, it will be available on Playstation 5, Xbox X/S and PC platforms.
