Marvel draws a lot of attention across the board, and now it’s working on a new game-changer. Recently, the developers are Marvel Entertainment has announced a brand new mobile game called Marvel Snap. It’s a trading card game with heroes, villains, and neutral characters from all across the Marvel universe. Even better, the game is designed to stand apart from other CCGs. Instead of taking turns to play a set number of cards, players can battle in real time and deploy as many cards as they want.
This Card Game Is A Marvel Snap
The collectible card game (CCG) genre has been popular in gaming for a long time. However, the genre has an established formula based on conventional card games, which Marvel Snap wants to change.
The developers felt like most card and deck building games were too slow-paced, mainly because of their turn-based designs. That’s why there are no turns in Marvel Snap, and players can play cards as much as they want. The goal is to control two out of three areas represented by cards in the center of the screen. You can play two cards to an area, and combine their abilities for effects, and bonuses while trying to stay ahead of your opponent.
To complement the idea of speed playing, players will be able to build much smaller decks of around fifteen cards. This is to eliminate the redundancy of duplicate cards while giving you a much tighter strategy. There’s also a mind-game component that comes with raising the stakes. At any time during play, players can “Snap” to boost the potential reward they stand to win or lose. Much like in poker, the Snap allows you to secure a big victory or completely bluff your opponent.
Though MARVEL SNAP stands to be a faster more streamlined CCG, players will still have to wait before they can snap their super deck to victory. The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but the developers plan to launch the game for mobile as well as PC.
