Congratulations on defeating the Green EMMI, Bounty Hunter. Now that you have the Metroid Dread Morph Ball, you’re in a great spot to explore ZDR to a much larger degree. However, that doesn’t mean the game is going to tell you where to go next. Unless you accept the blue butterflies of ZDR into your life, you might be lost for a bit! While Metroid Dread is great to explore, we have some directions that you can go if you’re looking for guidance.
Where to Go After Morph Ball in Metroid Dread
Once you’ve defeated the Green EMMI and received the Morph Ball in Metroid Dread, your next stop is the Varia Suit. Before that, explore Cataris and use the upgrade to gain four more Missile Tanks. Once you finish exploring, head to the left side of the EMMI Zone in the bottom left area. Morph under the Alien Statue to reach an Ammo Recharge Station. You can go through the Centipede Path to gain 10 extra missiles, and then head left to get the Red Teleportal. Head through the Red Teleportal to go to Ataria; your next objective.
The Green EMMI will give you access to the Ataria Red Teleportal, which is your next objective. It’s past the Alien Head statue, and it’ll be a chore to go back and forth for a while. Make sure you collect all Missile canisters that you’re interested in — Cataris has quite a few.
If you want to follow the standard upgrade order, we’ll be going to the Varia Suit. This is what you need in order to survive in heat-intensive zones. Once you’re through the Red Teleportal, you simply have to follow the left side of the rooms and drop through passages until you reach a sunken room. Once you activate the Thermal Device, it’s an escape sequence that’ll lead you right to your upgrade.
And if you do that, then combined with the Morph Ball, you’ve just opened ZDR quite a lot! You can head to new zones, sneak through small paths, and not worry about heat one bit. Make sure you collect a few upgrades to your missiles and health as you explore.
