Minecraft is known as one of the most popular video games of all time, keeping players coming back over and over to play in their blocky worlds. The game’s been known for its massive updates. With their latest update, the second half of the caves and cliff’s update, players have found themselves with some new items that weren’t there before, and a new world generation. However, a special version of the game houses a special lighting tool, glow sticks. Here’s how to make them!
How to Make a Glow Stick in Minecraft
The glow stick is a Chemistry item which is only found in Minecraft: Education Edition. To craft a glow stick, you’re need to acquire these resources and put them into the game’s compound creator:
- 10 Carbon, 20 Hydrogen. This makes Polyethylene, one of the main components of a glow stick. You’ll need six of these before being able to craft a glow stick.
- 8 Carbon, 7 Hydrogen, 3 Nitrogen, 2 Oxygen Which makes Luminol, a chemical that illuminates through chemical reactions. You’ll need one of these.
- 2 Hydrogen, 2 Oxygen, this makes Hydrogen Peroxide. You’ll only need one of these.
While Education Edition is normally used for schools, there are still ways to access its new crafting items in-game. When starting a new world, click the “Activate Cheats Option” in the bedrock edition of the game. Once that’s done, switching on the “Education Edition” version will launch the world into Education Edition mode, as well as give you the option to craft glow sticks!
To craft the glow stick, take all the components you’ve made to a crafting table, then place all six of the polyethylene on the sides of the crafting table. Place the hydrogen peroxide in the bottom middle box, and the luminol in the top middle box. If you’re feeling creative, place a colored dye in the middle of the crafting table, that will change the color. To use the glow stick, simply activate it like you’re eating a food item!
