Minecraft is a very beautiful game filled with picturesque moments, so at some point, you’re probably going to want to take some screenshots. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t really explain how to take a screenshot and it is a bit different depending on which platform you’re on. But fear not, for in this guide you will find the answers you are looking for. That said, here is how to take a screenshot in Minecraft

As you’re probably aware, Minecraft is available on a lot of different platofrms. So, depending on the system that you’re playing on, there are a different set of instructions. But don’t worry, we will go over the process for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

On Java PC

In order to take a screenshot for PC/JAVA look at the top left of your keyboard and hit F2 and that’s all you need to do. From there, to find a recently saved screen, you need to go to the Minecraft AppData folder in your systems files.

The AppData folder location should look something like this “C:\Users\(YourPcName)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft”. After finding the folder click the word “Screenshots” and boom, you have your recently taken screens. 

On Windows 10

Moving on, for the Windows 10 Edition you need to open the windows game bar by hitting and holding the Window’s button (the one with the logo) and G key at the same time. After doing so, then select the camera icon that should pop up to take a screen. Alternatively, you can hold the Window’s button, Alt, and the Print Screen key simultaneously to take a screenshot immediately.

On Xbox One

Next to take a screenshot in Minecraft on an Xbox One, you need to double-tap the Xbox button on the controller, then press Y to capture the screen or record a video clip. Once you’ve captured a screen or a clip, you can find it in your image gallery on your Xbox.

On PlayStation 4

To take a screenshot in Minecraft on a PlayStation 4, simply hold down the SHARE button on your controller or tap the button to open a new menu. In this new menu, you should have the option to take a screen or record a video.

On Nintendo Switch

Lastly, to take a screenshot in Minecraft on a Nintendo Switch. all you have to do is press the button on the left joy-con that looks like a camera. Easy peasy.
