Minecraft, a game that needs no introduction. This voxel-based sandbox game rose from the indie to the mainstream in fabulous style. However, even today, the vastness of Minecraft makes it easy to miss out on how to do even the simplest of things. You probably already know you can tame animals, but what about parrots? What does it take to get these friendly birds to play nice?
How to Tame a Parrot in Minecraft
Every mob in the game has a “favorite food” that’s used to tame them. Or, if you’re someone who likes to have a farm, even breed animals. Wolves like bones, cats and polar bears like fish, cows eat wheat, and pigs like carrots. While those may seem like no-brainers, some people may be tripped up by the exotic animals.
One of those animals is the parrot. The pirate’s best friend, as well as a friend to all Minecraft players. Finding a parrot is relatively easy, if you know where to look. Parrots are always located in the jungle biome. So, head out in any direction of your Minecraft world, and make your way to the nearest jungle biome. When looking for parrots, look to the tops of trees, or on the ground. Sometimes, Parrots will be on the ground if the tree’s leaves reach down to the floor.
Once you find a parrot you want to tame, you’ll have to feed it seeds, much like other birds in the game. What seeds? Any seeds should work. Pumpkin, Wheat, Beetroot, etc. Just have enough to give to the parrot until hearts appear over his head.
That’s how you tame a parrot! The parrot will fly around and follow you as you walk throughout the world. As well as land on your shoulder in true pirate fashion! If you’re the kind of person who has a jukebox in their home, you can put one of the music discs in the jukebox, and if a parrot is nearby, it’ll start dancing to the music you put in!
