With the latest addition to the longstanding Major League Baseball video game tradition, we now have MLB The Show 20. As with previous installments, players have a variety of options to choose from when it is their turn at-bat. The MLB The Show 20 Guess Pitch feature should give players an advantage at the plate, but only if you know how to use it properly.
What is Guess Pitch in MLB The Show 20
Although this sounds intimidating, I can promise you that it is not. In MLB The Show 20, Guess Pitch will allow players to take an early guess at what kind of pitch is coming their way. If you guess right, you’ll slam the ball into the outfield, perhaps even hitting a homerun.
To guess the pitch in MLB the Show 20, simply hold down R2 and then press either X, Circle, Triangle, or Square. Each of those corresponds to a different type of pitch. If you guess correctly, then you will be rewarded with a powerful hit. However, if you guess wrong though, well, you’ve got about a snowball’s chance in hell of connecting.
As if guessing what the pitcher is going to throw is not difficult enough, you also have to guess where the ball will go in your strike zone. While you are holding R2 and deciding which button to press, you can use the L-stick to choose where you will swing. Although not as important as correctly guessing the type of pitch, if you swing wildly in the wrong place, the ball while whistle right by you.
Again, though, if you hit that sweet spot, then you are all set for stealing two or three bases, if not an entire home run for the team. As with any of the MLB The Show games, this will depend upon your timing as much as your luck, so make sure not to jump the gun and swing too early.
