Modern Warfare 2 2022 promises to bring back the classic MW2 from older consoles to a brand-new audience. But, it isn’t just sticking with what made the original great. It’s also bringing some modern flair to the product to keep people coming. Mastery Camos are an important part of building your armory’s appearance in Modern Warfare 2 2022, much like other modern CoD games. But, you’ll need to be ready in-advance for how the mechanic works for this new edition of the game. Let’s dig in and learn together.
How to Unlock Mastery Camos in Modern Warfare 2 2022
Mastery Camos in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2022 are weapon-specific skin unlocks. Each of your weapons will have a specific challenge to blow through if you want to get the Gold. Then, with the Gold Camo equipped, you’ll need to continue burning through challenges to get even more expensive-looking camos. This system is a simple callback to modern Call of Duty camo design, so it’ll work similarly.
In order to get the Gold Skin, each weapon will either have 4 challenges or a single one. This will usually be getting kills unconditionally, or getting kills with a condition, like Triple Kills. You can check what your weapon will need to do in the Camo Category screen.
Once you get the Gold Camo Challenge for a weapon, you’ll need to do that a few times. If you do it for weapons in a specific category, you’ll unlock the Platinum Camo Challenges for the weapons in that category.
Once you get 51 Platinum Camos, you’ll get access to Polyatomic. Then, each weapon with Polyatomic will also get the Orion weapon camo.
You can also farm Mastery achievements while equipped with a Mastery Camo. This’ll grant you a calling card and emblem based on your weapon. Then, if you do it for all of the camos on a weapon, you’ll get a unique charm. That’s… a ton of kills, though! The example that the devs gave in their blog listed getting a total of 1,000 kills across the different camos. They’re keeping us busy!
