The long-awaited Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is here and, yes, it brings multiplayer! This anticipated medieval RPG/combat simulator includes team-based siege assaults, team deathmatches, and two 6 vs 6 PVP modes. So, if you get tired of the single-player campaign, you can duke it out in all manner of ways with other players online. Here’s a quick rundown on the different Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord multiplayer options.
Does Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Have Multiplayer?
Yes. Yes it does.
Unfortunately, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord does NOT have a multiplayer/co-op campaign. I know, I’m sad too. That being said, the developer and publisher TaleWorlds Entertainment is likely to make some changes in the coming months. Whether this will include a multiplayer campaign option remains to be seen, though it seems unlikely.
Below are all of the Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord multiplayer options:
- Siege– This is what it sounds like: A team-based fortress defense/assault match. One side defends the castle while the other tries to seize it.
- Team Deathmatch– Again, this is what it sounds like. You hop on a team and kill the other team.
- Skirmish– This is a 6 vs 6 PVP game mode. Here, each player has a set number of points. You spend those points on troops and equipment to suit your needs and style before tackling the other team.
- Captain Mode– Once more this is 6 vs 6 and PVP, however each player leads a group of CPU teammates into battle and only one comes out victorious.
Once again, keep in mind that there are probably going to be some changes over the next few months coming to the game. Any of these modes could be modified for balancing or bug fixes. If we are lucky, perhaps they will include different ways to play online with each other! If not, Bannerlord still promises plenty of action between its single-player and multiplayer options.
