Engineering is just one of the many useful skills you can master within New World. If you’re looking to acquire the best ranged weapons and tools fast, our handy guide will show you the most efficient ways to level this skill quickly.
Best Way To Level Engineering in New World
Engineering is such an important skill in New World due to its correlation with crafting better weapons. Higher levels in this skill increase Gear Scores and the chance of gaining a gem socket or a perk. If you’re just starting out, the best way to level Engineering quickly is to craft Iron Arrows. Considering each set of 50 arrows yields 103 experience points in Engineering, this method provides one of the best XP values per crafted item when factoring materials used.
Getting going on this will require lots of Iron Ingots, Timber, and Feathers. Raw materials for these items are easily gathered or mined, and can be refined from the start. Green Wood is harvested anywhere there’s trees. and it only takes four Wood for each Timber crafted at the Woodworking station. As for Feather, you will find them on the many Turkeys you encounter early in the game around the Monarch’s Bluffs and Windsward settlements. Lastly, you will find Iron Ore veins in abundance located both in Monarch’s Bluffs and Everfall. These are two of the starting locations, so you won’t have to venture far. You can refine four Iron Ore into one Iron Ingot at a Smelting station.
Once loading up on these materials, it’s time to craft! Walk on over to the Workshop and get to it. After crafting only 28 sets of Iron Arrow, this will be enough to get your Engineering Level up to 20. If you want to take it all the way to the next Tier at Level 50, you’ll need to craft 80 sets of Iron Arrows. Bear in mind they are quite heavy so you’ll likely be unloading them cheap at the trade post. However, this shouldn’t be an issue as the experience gained by performing this activity is the real value here.
