In Amazon’s new RPG New World, you need every resource you can get to survive. Fishing is a particularly fruitful way of keeping your stocks replenished. You can use a variety of bait to catch fish, and Woodlouse Bait is one of the most unique – and hard to find. So we are going to show you where to get some!
Where to Find Woodlouse Bait in New World
The best place to find Woodlouse Bait is in the bushes. In fact, this goes for all types of bait, ranging from Bread Bait to Fresh Water Bait. Currently, you’ve got a 10% chance of getting bait when you’re searching bushes. It’s all down to luck when you shake down the bushes – so you’ll need to hope for Woodlouse Bait.
Alternatively, you can also get Woodlouse Bait by completing a quest called Master Fisher Michael Shields, in his area east of Windsward. If you speak to him, he’ll give you a mission to complete. Your task is to shake down bushes to find five Woodlouse Bait – so during that quest, it’s guaranteed to drop. You’ll need that bait to catch specific types of fish, including Tadpoles – so be sure to hold onto it if you can.
As you can see, Woodlouse Bait is especially hard to come by in New World. In fact, fans are complaining about how low the drop rate is, so hopefully it’ll get a boost later on in the beta or by the time the full game releases. On the one hand, it’s nice to know that you can always find it in bushes, but since the drop rate is slow low it can be kind of frustrating sometimes.
All that said, shaking down bushes across the world is your best way to find it, but again, it’s not a guaranteed method. It’s a hard resource to grab, and New World wants you to work for it.
