Nintendo Finds Activision Blizzard Reports \”Disturbing and Distressing\”

Nintendo Comments on Activsion Blizzard, Finds reports "Disturbing and Distressing"

Joining Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo of America has commented regarding the current state of affairs at Activision Blizzard.

Last week’s report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Activision Blizzard, knew about sexism and misogyny being led by the company’s developers.

Fanbyte’s Imran Khan is reporting that Nintendo of America’s president Doug Bowser sent an internal email, commenting on the report.

Along with all of you, I’ve been following the latest developments with Activision Blizzard and the ongoing reports of sexual harassment and toxicity at the company. I find these accounts distressing and disturbing, They run counter to my values as well as Nintendo’s beliefs, values and policies.

The report also mentions that Bowser has been working with the ESA, of which both Nintendo and Activision-Blizzard are a member, to help strengthen industry stances regarding abuse and harassment in the workplace.

Whether or not anything comes of this remains to be seen. Kotick has stated that he’ll consider stepping down if he can’t fix the company’s problems. We’ll file that one under “we’ll believe that when we see it.”
