Outriders Resistance Piercing | What Does It Mean?

Outriders Resistance Piercing

Outriders is a game with a ton of different stats and attributes to look at. There are way too many different things to look at, and some of these stats are super important! One thing that’s kind of tucked away in Outriders is Resistance Piercing, and… What the heck does that even mean? If you’re wondering this, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! This quick guide will help explain what it does and if you should want it.

What Is Resistance Piercing in Outriders

Outriders Resistance Piercing

Outriders Resistance Piercing means how much damage resistance your Skills ignore when you attack an enemy. For example, if you have 30% Resistance Piercing, and your enemy has 50% Skill Resistance, it only takes 20% less Skill Damage. From what we know for sure, this statistic only affects Skill Damage, and doesn’t do much for Gun Damage. Thankfully, it seems that Resistance Piercing affects all skills, and you don’t need to build piercing for a specific type of element.

This is less important than generic Anomaly Power if you’re looking for straight skill damage. While some enemies do have great resistance to Skill damage, especially later on, you’re going to want to make sure you have the damage to support your Piercing in the first place.

However, for the late game… Some of the enemies you face are absolute beasts. They can tank a lot of the damage you output through skills and laugh. So, while having high power is critical, forcing the DPS you deal to be cut in half will mean your Power will have diminishing returns. You’ll want at least some Resistance Piercing so that you have guaranteed good damage, even if the monsters you fight are supposed to be Skill damage tanks. This is especially good for bossing, since bosses are probably going to have above average resistances to skill.

Outriders is out on most consoles, Google Stadia, and PC, though it is currently plagued with minor server issues. Check out some of our other Outriders articles!
