If you were to make a Mt. Rushmore of video games, Pac Man would most certainly be on it. For millions, it was the first game that they ever played.
And despite the fact that the arcade version of the game first debuted all the way back in 1980, there is still plenty of interest. Bandai Namco is leaning into that nostalgia by releasing Pac-Man+, where gamers can play 14 different games.
The full roster of games includes Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac and Pal, Pac-Land, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack, Pac-in-Time, Pac-Man Arrangement (Arcade Version, Pac-Man Arrangement (Console Version), Pac-Man Championship Edition, Pac-Motos, Pan ‘N Roll Remix, Pac-Man Battle Royale, and Pac-Man 256.
This is the second time that a Pac-Man Museum game has been made. The first, which debuted in 2014, included 9 titles. The 2022 version will include some more modern Pac-Man titles like Pac-Man Championship Edition and Pac-Man 256.
There is a unique way to enter the game. The user strolls into an arcade as Pac-Man. All 14 available titles are represented by arcade consoles. And the user, in a very meta scenario, plays the Pac-Man Games as Pac-Man.
As gamers come to have favorite versions, they can customize the arcade to their liking. Decor for the area can be purchased with coins earned during gameplay.
Pac-Man Museum+ will be available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. There is no current release date, but the game is expected to drop in early 2022.
