How to Save in Paper Mario: The Origami King
If you’re familiar with the Nintendo Switch, you’ll know that in order to move from one game to another, you’ll have to close our whatever game you’re currently playing. When you return to the game, you’ll pick up from your last save point, which won’t necessarily be the same place you left off from. So, if you want to prevent that from happening, you’ll want to be sure to save your game before you close it out.
There are two ways to save your game in Paper Mario: The Origami King, with the most obvious being to finish a level. Alternatively, you can save a game mid-level by interacting with one of the rainbow blocks with a giant “S” on it. Simply stand underneath it and jump up to hit it with your head and your game will be saved. Typically, these will appear about half-way through a level, so if you see one, be sure to save your progress before you continue.
All that being said, if you’re not planning on closing out of the game and are just taking a break, you don’t really need to worry about saving your progress as the Switch will allow you to pick right back up where you left off. However, if you’re battery dies or you accidentally close out of the game, then you’ll be reset to the last save point. So, it’s probably best practice to just go ahead and save your game whenever you come across one of the rainbow blocks.
