In Phasmophobia, you will spend the majority of the time in the dark — that is unless you have a candle with you. In this guide, we will show you how to get candles as well as the best ways to use them in Phasmophobia. So if you want to make your ghost hunting experience a little less scary, then you have come to the right place.
How to Use Candles in Phasmophobia
Firstly, you will need to obtain a candle from the shop or within the game itself. The candles you find within the game are less bright, so you won’t see as much compared to the candles you buy. So I would suggest you purchase them at the shop just to be safe.
You can do this in the server lobby by going to the board. If you look at the bottom right of the board you should see an add button. You can add up to four candles, but make sure you click buy before starting a game.
Candles cost $15 each in the pre-game lobby and must be light with a lighter which can also be bought in the shop costing $10. To light the candle, players must hold it and then press the F key while having a lighter in their possession.
Players can also light unlit candles and place them anywhere in a game. To do this players must hold a lighter and walk up to the unlit candle and again press the F key. Once this is done the candle should become lit up.
Candles can help players in the game by lighting up darkened rooms, which helps to stop sanity levels from dropping. Additionally, they can also be placed anywhere during a game, like on floors, countertops, and tables. I would suggest placing the candles on higher surfaces though, as they can light up the room better.
Now that you know how to use candles in Phasmophobia, hunting down the phantoms in the game should be a little less scary now… Well maybe not, but it will be a little brighter at least. For more on the game, check out the guides below:
