Sinnoh has some absolutely adorable Pokémon and they deserve to stretch their legs! In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can actually get your Pokemon to follow you around! Unfortunately, it seems a bit trickier to do that in this entry than it was in the past. While remakes like HeartGold and SoulSilver let your Pokemon walk all the time, that doesn’t seem to be in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. So, when can you allow your Pokemon out of their capsules?
How to Get Your Pokemon to Follow You in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond
You can allow your Pokemon to follow you when you enter Amity Square in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This square is located in Hearthome City, and can be found at about the halfway point of the game. You only have a select number of Pokemon that can follow you in Amity Square. We suggest you go there to pick up some TMs and items that you can find around the place.
Unfortunately, the number of Pokemon that can walk with you in Amity park are heavily limited. You can bring the following Pokemon:
- Pikachu
- Clefairy
- Jigglypuff
- Psyduck
- Eevee (and all Generation 1-4 Eeveelutions)
- Torchic
- Shroomish
- Skitty
- All Generation 4 Starters
- Pachirisu
- Drifloon
- Buneary
- Happiny
As a note, these are the Pokemon that are allowed in Amity Park as of the release version. It is possible that more Pokemon will be allowed in over time.
Pokemon not on the list will not be allowed out of the ball. This is unfortunate, because you’ll need a few of these guys out to make strong, efficient Poffins.
Thankfully, you’ll only need one Pokemon from the list if you want to get in. Then you can scour the place for TMs and the Amulet Coin! The TMs aren’t incredibly powerful, but they are additional options for your team.
Sinnoh is one of our favorite generations, so we’re happy to see that the remakes are doing well! We can help you find some more news about Nintendo while you’re here!
