PlayStation Plus Free Games for August 2022

The PlayStation Plus free games for August 2022 include Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Little Nightmares, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is one of the more recent installments of the Yakuza series. Though the games about criminals based in Japan have always had several degrees of exaggeration, this one stands apart from them. Not because it’s different in tone, but because it’s different in gameplay and presentation. Instead of a free-roam brawling game, this title goes full RPG even including the classic turn-based combat style. Your goal is to gather a party of criminal characters to fight and help take the streets for yourself. There’s also plenty of zaniness still to be had.

Little Nightmares is another entry in the yet-to-be-officially-named genre we like to call Creep-Cute. This presents a horror game that has some cute aesthetics whether it’s a cartoon appearance or an adorable main character. This 3D platform-puzzle game follows the struggles of a girl in a yellow raincoat named Six. Using a combination of platforming and navigation, you’ll need to lead Six past towering monster humans as she tries to survive and escape.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is self-explanatory, but there’s a bit more to explore here. As a skateboard game, you gain control of one of several skaters in one of multiple locations. While there, you pull off all the tricks you can in order to get the highest score. You’ll need to have balance and timing in order to land the most complicated ones. You can play one of the different game modes, with goals like spelling S-K-A-T-E or finding hidden items. Or, you can simply spend time skating around at your own discretion.
