The CES 2022 Sony Press Conference contained big announcements for the PlayStation brand. This includes both upcoming game releases and additional entertainment endeavors.
Before Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, took the stage, we had a couple of relevant announcements. We already knew The Last of Us is being adapted to an HBO series. The CES 2022 Sony Press Conference confirmed that we’d also be receiving a Twisted Media television series as well in the future. In addition, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, will be directing the Ghost of Tsushima movie.
At about midway through the 35-minute CES 2022 Sony Press Conference, Jim Ryan talked about what’s coming to PlayStation 5. He highlighted the 17 studios that are under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. After talking for a bit, highlighting some marketing buzz words, he mentioned an all-new tournament feature coming to the PlayStation 5.
The big news is PlayStation VR2, highlighted with a trailer for Horizon Call of the Mountain, an upcoming VR game.
So what do you all think? I’m bummed that the Twisted Metal news is a TV series instead of a game. Let us know your thoughts on Sony’s big announcements in the comments below.
