If you’ve played this far already, you should be no stranger to the puzzles of Resident Evil Village. Some puzzles you have encountered will have been incredibly easy; others, not so much. The Luiza’s Key puzzle falls in the latter category – that is – without a guide of course. This guide will walk you through the steps required to find and use the key needed to unlock a valuable item to sell to the Duke.
How to Get Luiza’s Key in Resident Evil Village
Finding this key can be tricky if you don’t know where to look, as it requires a bit of backtracking and some examination. You’ll have to wait to do this until after you escape Castle Dimitrescu for the first time and return to the village, though this does not happen that far into the story. Once back in the village, you can find Luiza’s key by heading east of the Maiden of War statue, through the wheat fields until you’re back to Luiza’s house – the place where Luiza gave you shelter at the start of the game. You will have to deal with some monsters along the way, so be ready.
Once back at Luiza’s place, you’ll find that it has been burned down. On the front steps of the house, you’ll find a small box. Open it up to find a necklace that belonged to Luiza, then choose to examine it. You can interact with the front of the necklace to retrieve the gem. Examine the necklace a second time, this time with the gem removed, and you should find Luiza’s key.
As for where to use it, you’re going to want to head to the west side of the village to Lone Road, completely opposite where you are right now. Trek over there and approach the southern wall, where you will find a few rooms carved into the stone. In one of these rooms, you will find a locked red chest containing Cesare’s Goblet, which can be unlocked using your newly acquired necklace key. This antique goblet can be sold for 19,000 Lei at the Duke’s emporium. Not bad at all.
