Taking the roll of The Boss has never been quite so brutal, so you’d better get some weapons for yourself! But, the default weapons will never be quite enough. If you really want to crack this city, you’re going to need some extra firepower. If you want to upgrade weapons in Saints Row (2022), you’re in the right place.
How to Upgrade Weapons in Saints Row 2022
In order to upgrade weapons, you’ll need to unlock specific challenges for each weapon. Once you’ve completed the challenge, you can swing on down to a Friendly Fire in order to get the weapon’s upgrades. If you want to customize the weapons, you can head to the Weapon Cache in Friendly Fire or in your closet/Saints Church. Weapon upgrades cost $5,000, $25,000, and $100,000 dollars accordingly.
Each weapon has a specific Signature Ability. These abilities are on the weapon’s description, and you just need to perform the challenge to unlock them. These are free, thankfully. But, you will still need to head to the Friendly Fire of your choice to upgrade them. These signature abilities are often better than the basic upgrade systems. They can be toggled, too, so if you don’t like them you can just switch them off.
That being said, the basic upgrades are still hard base stats! You can spend money on these at level 5, 10, and 15. Each one will increase in cost nearly fivefold, so you’re going to want to save up for these beasts. We recommend choosing one that you like the most, completing its Challenge, and then pumping money into it. That way, you can afford to purchase other cool stuff that Santo Ileso has to offer.
