2022 was already looking to be a very good year for gamers. Thanks to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain issues, the release date for a number of titles has been pushed back. February looks like an especially good month with games like Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Saints Row, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen coming out.
And now, another hotly anticipated title will be added to the list. Shadow Warrior 3, the sequel to the ultra-violent and ultra-popular title from Flying Wild Hog has been pushed to next year.
Publisher Devolver Digital tweeted out the news along with a video announcement, writing, “Shadow Warrior 3 is, like, 99% awesome, but it’s gonna be at least 120% awesome with a little more polish, so we decided to give it the extra bit of love that it deserves. Coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in early 2022!”
When the game finally does come out, it looks like it is going to be a blast to play. Game designer Paweł Kowalewski said in an interview with Mashable, “we really want the players to feel overpowered,” and that the title will be completely “over the top.”
“This is your ultimate fantasy of being this hero who has a job to do and enjoys it. This is a very important part of the connection between gameplay and the personality of our protagonist. As a player you should feel that this guy really enjoys the situation he’s in.”
