The Sims 4 is a game where pretty much anything and everything can happen – even alien invasions. As part of the game’s 2016 Get to Work expansion, alien abductions were put into the game, and they’re a pretty serious extra-terrestrial threat. Aliens can even abduct you from the comfort of your home. We’ve got all the details on how to get abducted by aliens in The Sims 4, and what happens when you do.
How to Get Abducted by Aliens in The Sims 4
To get abducted by aliens in The Sims 4, you first need to make sure you’re playing at a time where UFOs are in the atmosphere. Generally, this is from 10pm to 4am via the in-game clock, so make sure you’re available at those times. If there’s a UFO about, your Sim will be invited to investigate a “Weird Light” in the distance. Once you do this, the light will beam down and you will be abducted.
Sadly, you don’t get to witness alien abductions in The Sims 4. Instead, your Sim returns back to your world a few hours later. From here, there’s quite a few possible scenarios. Any Sim, either male or female, can be abducted – but only male Sims can be impregnated by the aliens. Like other pregnancies in the game, you’ll soon give birth – but to an alien baby. From there, you’ve got a new, slightly different addition to your Sim family. The chances of impregnation are quite low at 25%, but you can’t guarantee it won’t happen to your Sim.
Interestingly, there are a few career and object modifiers that can impact the chances of an alien encounter. Firstly, if your Sims is in a scientific profession, their abduction chances are higher. If you buy items related to aliens, like a satellite dish, wormhole generator, or Out of This World desktop PC, it’ll also increase your chances. Having the satellite dish gives you power though, as you can override the abduction – something you can’t do if you don’t own one. It gives you some power over those aliens, but they’re still an unpredictable mechanic.
