Skryim‘s magic system lends to a fun and unique build for players. This is especially true for those looking to fight their battles with mana and cunning rather than brute force. There are a lot of magic options in Skyrim, and one of the best spells in the game is none other than Telekinesis. You know the one: It lets you move things with your mind. Sounds good right? Here’s how to add it to your repertoire.
How to Get Telekinesis in Skyrim
If you want to learn Telekinesis in Skyrim, you’re going to have to level up your Alteration skill. Telekinesis requires your Alteration to be at least level 50. Therefore, you’ll have to spend some time leveling. Once you reach level 50, you’ll be eligible to learn the spell — but you’ll have to find it first.
There are plenty of places where you can get your hands on the spell tome for Telekinesis. The most direct route is to simply buy it. The tome is sold by Tolfdir in the College of Winterholm, or by Wylandriah in Mistveil Keep. However, if you’re looking to get it without spending your gold, you’ll have to seek it out.
The Telekinesis tome is sometimes found inside of Dwarven chests or in Giant camps. The tome is also found in chests within dragon lairs. Fortunately, there are a few specific places you get get your hands on this spell. One can be found in a cell in Redwater Den near a dead body. Another is found inside the safe in Proudspire Manor. If you happen to find yourself in Autumnwatch Tower, there’s one more in a chest next to the word wall.
As for what you can do with it, one of the best things to use Telekinesis for is if you’re playing a thief. Using Telekinesis can allow you to take people’s goods from them without having to pickpocket. Another thing that Telekinesis is used for is picking an item up, and fast traveling. The game will register this as if you walked the whole distance holding the item, and seriously level up your Alteration skill. Having your Alteration skill up is also perfect for performing the Restoration Loop.
