Obtaining the Mystery Egg in Super Mario RPG requires players to undertake several steps in order to unlock its secrets. How to Unlock the Mystery Egg
First things first: Super Mario RPG players can purchase the Mystery Egg by trading 200 coins at the Miner’s Store in Moleville. It’s run by the Treasure-hunting Toad, who becomes available after players take down Punchinello in the Mole Mines. Likewise, players will also collect the third Star Piece (orange) before returning to Moleville. Upon Mario and the party’s arrival post-Mole Mines adventure, players can visit the toad at his shop in town.
Secondly, players will need to follow a procedure to hatch the rainbow-colored Mystery Egg. This is feasible with Peach, who must also wear a Nurture Ring to utilize the egg’s contents properly. While playing as Peach, use the egg ten times to commence hatching a sheep. You’ll know you’ve done it right when you see the following text: “You’re a great shepherd!”
Keep in mind that only Peach must use the egg for it to hatch. If Mario, Mallow, Geno, or Bowser activates the item in combat, the count will reset to zero. It shall remain useless until Peach triggers it ten times to unlock something new.

How to Use the Lamb’s Lure
With the Mystery Egg hatching, players will receive the Lamb’s Lure. This bumfuzzling attack item summons a sheep that, in turn, transforms an enemy into a sheep themselves. The sheep then flee the scene, rendering them useless in battle. It’s a neat attack move that can save players from a dangerous offensive move by their foes.
While Lamb’s Lure is a convenient tool, it has some side effects. By activating the item, players won’t receive any coins or experience points, nor can it be used on bigger enemies and bosses. Furthermore, it’s not that popular on the market; it’s priced at only one coin if players choose to sell it.
Regardless, the Lamb’s Lure is an item that can unlock another commodity: the Sheep Attack. As the follow-up to Lamb’s Lure, the Sheep Attack can change all enemies on the field into sheep. Players can unlock this after using the Lamb’s Lure 48 times while controlling any party member. Unfortunately, the same side effects of Lamb’s Lure also apply to the Sheep Attack, limiting its long-term potential.
Regardless of the side effects, both items are handy tools to use in combat. It might be best to keep them around if a combative encounter becomes sour.
