There’s no need to panic if you have friends you want to play Tekken 8 with on a different platform than you. The eighth installment is the first Tekken game to introduce cross-platform play, meaning you can now battle your friends even if you’re on PC and they’re on PS5. This guide will explain how to enable and disable cross-platform play to access different player pools.

When loading up the game for the first time, Tekken 8 automatically asks whether you want to enable cross-platform play. Of course, you can choose yes or no, depending on your preference.

However, if you decide to enable or disable cross-play in the future, follow these few steps to activate it.

  • Head to the options menu
  • Select Game Option Settings
  • Scroll down to the Cross-Platform option
  • Toggle it on or off
  • Confirm your settings

It’s as simple as that. If you don’t want to play against players who are on a different console or if they’re on a PC, simply choose to keep cross-play toggled off. However, if you want to have a larger player pool who may have different skills than you, enabling cross-platform play will give you that.

The setting isn’t permanent, so you can toggle it on and off as often as you like.

If you find that you want to battle friends who are on a different platform to you, you’ll need to head to the Tekken Fight Lounge to locate them. From there, you will be able to add them as a Tekken friend and fight them in any game mode that you like.

Once you have them added to your list, you’ll be able to play with them whenever you want, so long as you have cross-platform enabled.

That’s everything you need to know about how to enable and disable cross-platform play in Tekken 8.
