Terraria Souls of Night - How to Get

There’s plenty of Crafting materials in the sandbox world of Terraria. While some may be easy to find, others are not. Some of them, like the Souls of Night, are hidden in plain sight. So, how do you get your hands on these? It’s not quite as complicated as you might expect.

Unlike the other types, the Souls of Night aren’t boss-exclusive items. So, rest easy, you won’t have to go out of your way grinding bosses for these materials. Instead, you’ll have to grind out a different kind of enemy. The Souls are most commonly found by taking out the enemies in the underground Corruption, or Crimson (depending on what you chose when starting the game.)

However, if you’ve just started your Terraria world, you’re not going to be getting these right off the bat. Instead, you’re going to have to wait. Souls of Night won’t start dropping from the Corruption/Crimson enemies until after you’ve defeated the Wall of Flesh. The truth is, Souls of Night are a hard mode crafting material, meaning that you’ll only be able to get your hands on these until hard mode begins. Which isn’t hard if you’re a skilled Terraria player.

But, what can you make with the Souls of Night? Well, they’re used in a lot of Magic tomes. So, if you’re a magic build in this run, you might benefit the most from these souls. For Magic users, you’ll be able to craft the Cursed Flames and the Golden Shower. If you happen to be a ranged weapon build, you can also use the the material to make the Onyx Blaster. A very powerful shotgun that can benefit you against the mechanical bosses of Terraria.

Any way you slice it, you’re going to need the Souls of Night, as they’re a very useful crafting material for not only your survival but your combat.
