There are a total of 20 Journal Entry locations in The Last of Us Part 2. In the sections below, you’ll find detailed instructions on where to find each entry based on which area of the game you’re currently in.
Jackson Journal Entries
Journal 1: Located on patrol
Your first journal entry can be found when you tie up the horse. Once you’ve done that go find Dina and view the optional scene. You’ll have it then.
Journal 2: Located on patrol
As soon as you get to the library you can get the next journal entry. Look around the children’s section and find the giraffe.
Journal 3: Located in the house
When you’re preparing to leave the house take a look around the kitchen. When you’re there you should find Joel’s mug. If you interact with it you’ll find the entry.
Journal 4: Located in the house
If you go upstairs to the study you’ll find Joel’s guitar. You should get the journal message from interacting with this.
Seattle Day One Journal Entries
Journal 5: Located near the gate
Before you scale the wall you should find some graffiti that says “WLF: Trespassers Killed On Sight”, if you interact with this you’ll get the journal entry.
Journal 6: Located downtown
After the checkpoint bridge, you will need to enter the Valiant Music shop. If you use the lookout point you should find this one.
Journal 7: Located downtown
For this one, you will need to pay attention while in the synagogue. When you’re swinging around, before you leave you will need to run all the way to the back to find a small drawer. In the drawer you’ll find Rabbi Saunder’s letter, the journal entry will be added after reading this.
Journal 8: Located in the tunnels
When you kill your first shambler, all you need to do is check the body. You should get the journal entry straight away.
Journal 9: Located in Wyoming Museum
You will need to go to the Wyoming Museum and interact with the sign of the T-Rex. This should give you the entry.
Journal 10: Located in Wyoming Museum
In the astronaut section of the Wyoming Museum, there is a bench shaped like a circle. All you need to do is interact with the bench and you’ll get the entry.
Seattle Day Two Journal Entries
Journal 11: Located by Hillcrest
You should get this journal entry by interacting with the WLF poster between Ruston Coffee Shop and Used and Rare Books.
Journal 12: Located near the mountains
There’s a ledge looking out onto the mountains, look between the two trees nearby and you’ll find it.
Journal 13: Located in the office
Interact with the graffiti that says “Feel her love” while you’re in the office to get this entry.
Journal 14: Located by the hospital
This is unmissable as it’s part of the main story, all you need to do is see the hospital and you’ll get this one automatically.
Journal 15: Located by the bus station
You’ll need to kill the Scars in the park. Once you’ve done this go to the bus station and there’s a dead body you can interact with here.
Seattle Day Three Journal Entries
Journal 16: Located on the road to the aquarium
Go into the book shop and look for the children’s section. Once you’re there you will find some mushrooms on the wall, interact with them and you will have it.
Journal 17: Located in the flooded city
At the point where you need to get off the boat in order to pull a chain to proceed, look to your left. You should find a set of stairs that go into a big room with a window looking out onto a ferris wheel. Just interact with the window and you’re gold.
Journal 18: Located during infiltration
After you kill the dog, you need to look through Owen’s backpack and you’ll get this journal entry.
Santa Barbara Journal Entries
Journal 19: Located by the mansion
Another unmissable one, just leave the mansion under the outer wall and you should just get it automatically.
Journal 20: Located by the resort
After you defeat The Rattlers you should follow the train tracks nearby. Eventually, you will find a van with graffiti on it blocking the way. All you need to do is interact with it and you’ll have the final journal entry.
