The Sims 4 | What Time Does School Start?

Do School Grades Matter in The Sims 4?

The Sims 4 lets you run virtual avatars through the course of life, from early childhood through adulthood. Naturally, that means you’ll need to send your young ones to school. Or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, the High School Years expansion lets you live out those adventures in-person. But no matter how you enroll, it’s vital you attend your classes on time and stay on track with your coursework. Otherwise, you’ll fail your classes and miss out on a lot of important experiences. So, when exactly does school start in The Sims 4? We have the answer to that question just below.

What Time Does School Start in The Sims 4?

What Time Does School Start in The Sims 4?

School begins at 8 a.m. in The Sims 4. In the base version of the game, your children should automatically leave for school around that time. However, they will miss the bus if you’ve set them on other tasks manually. Be sure they’re fed, groomed, and unoccupied 15 or 20 minutes before they’re scheduled to leave.

The base version of The Sims 4 treats school the same as work. Your Sim will leave the house, and you can manage their performance while they’re away. However, the rules change a bit with the High School Years DLC. This expansion lets you follow your Sim straight into class, attending lectures and socializing with peers. Since it gets more in-depth with education, the rest of this guide will pertain specifically to the schedule used in the DLC.

High School Years Schedule

School still starts at 8 in High School Years, but you don’t have to head to class for another two hours. This gives you some free time to talk to other students or get a workout in. Despite class not starting right away, you’ll want to ensure you’re on time every day. After all, there is a very strict schedule that you must maintain in order to complete your education.

Your first class will start at 10 a.m. The bell will ring, and when it does this is your cue to head to classroom 1. This class will last for an hour, and allow you to learn new skills in a variety of courses, like Art and Business. After your first class ends, you’ll have a lunch break at 11 a.m. to refuel. Then, your second class will begin at 2 p.m. Same as before, the bell will ring when it’s to make your way to class.

Once you’ve attended both of those classes, the school will end at 3 p.m. So effectively, your schedule starts at 8 a.m. and it finishes at 3 p.m. Between this time, you’ll have a list of assignments to complete each day that’ll make your experience more memorable. Furthermore, after school, there’s still plenty to do, such as finishing your homework or participating in after-school activities.

Now that you know what time school and your classes start, you’ve got no excuse for flunking out. For more help getting your virtual life together, be sure to check out our other Sims 4 guides below:
