Visual Novel Necrobarista PC Release Date Announced

Necrobarista PC release date

Developer Route 59 has announced today that its new cinematic visual novel Necrobarista will release on July 22 on PC via Steam and GOG. Thanks to the Necrobarista PC release date players will follow the story of Maddy, an apprentice Necromancer who recently took control of The Terminal, a mysterious coffee place that serves as a transition point for people who have recently died.

In the game, patrons found The Terminal could be living beings or the lingering spirits of the dead who are biding their remaining time on earth before being forced to traverse into the great beyond. In the story, players will learn more about Maddy as she assumes all the integral responsibilities of running The Terminal.

Further thanks to the Necrobarista PC release date, players will also get to know other characters like Ashley, a young mechanics fanatic, outlaw Ned Kelly, and fellow necromancer Chay, as well as various other characters that will give players a deeper understanding about their own stories, as well as that of the supernatural place that links them all together.

The story’s chapters are a mix of cinematic storytelling with first-person exploration sections where players can unearth more information about The Terminal, as well as choose which narrative threads to follow first. Further, each scene contains collectible keywords that help players learn more about the characters they see and how they factor into the game’s world, which is an element that makes each interaction more dynamic.

With Necrobarista’s visual style and gameplay elements, Route 59 strives to enhance visual novels. For this reason, it leaves behind the traditional still-image and text-box style and instead focuses on an experience that merges 2D visuals in a three-dimensional world. Further, since the game draws inspiration from Japanese anime, the visual elements that give the story flow, mixed with the soundtrack composed by Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss and The Rising of the Shield Hero) aim to present players with a deeply immersive experience.

The Necrobarista PC release date is scheduled for release on July 22 and will be available on Steam and GOG for $19.99. The game will support various languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Russian, among others. Further, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch releases are planned to come out in 2021, although no official release for these versions of the game has been announced yet.
