As Wartales is a pretty complex and realistic game, your company will need something to keep the hunger down. Among the easiest ways to get food in this game is FISHING.But it isn’t as straightforward as most think. You’ll need to find the correct fishing spot, get fishing hooks, and have the necessary professions to actually fish. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the whole fishing fiasco in Wartales:
How To Fish In Wartales
The first thing you need to take care of are fishing lures or fishing hooks. These are very easy to acquire, and possibly the easiest way is by crafting them.

To craft them, you’ll need a character with a Tinkerer profession. It takes one Iron Ore to craft a single fishing lure. Other ways to get them is by buying them from vendors or looting them from human enemies. But the most effective one is crafting them.
IMPORTANT: Because the lures can be broken or lost in the waters, I recommend crafting more lures beforehand. It’s the same case as the lockpicks durability system.
The second thing you need to do is get a party member to get the Angler profession. This is the main requirement for fishing.
The way you do that is by going to a certain angling location on the map and clicking on the rod. Find this by using the ripples and sparkles on bodies of water.
Fishing. To fish, simply walk up to a body of water and click on it. Once the fishing has started, the only thing you need to do is keep the marker out of the red zones. Basically, keep it in the middle.
Sooner or later, a fish will grab the bait. Just keep it out of the red zones, and wait for a fish.
It’s not the absolute best source of food for your other characters, but it’s up there. Especially if you have a Cooking profession with which you can cook up some quality food.
