First and foremost, congratulations on your decision to dive into the Twilight franchise. Be it your first or repeat viewing, it’s an extraordinary story with mostly terrible acting developing into mediocre performances.
Nonetheless, it’s a classic cult phenomenon. It’s so bad; it’s good and leaves you wanting more. So how do you watch the Twilight movies in order?
First, prepare your day. These films aren’t for sporadic viewing; you must come to them ready to binge. Otherwise, you may not move past Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) awkward twitching and Edward Cullen’s (Robert Pattinson) ominous stare.
Trust me. It gets better and worse in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. So stick with it and get sucked into Stephenie Meyer’s interpretation of vampires and werewolves in Forks, Washington. Where vampires shine bright like a diamond and the werewolves are shirtless with a love for jorts.
I can guarantee that the Twilight soundtracks and movie scores are phenomenal. So it’s a euphonious adventure in addition to the love triangle and action on the screen.
Twilight Movies in Order of Release Date
The saga has five movies based on four books written by Stephenie Meyer. Breaking Dawn splits into two parts. Additionally, Meyer added Midnight Sun to the Twilight Books. However, it’s not in the film series.

Twilight
- Amazon Prime Video
The first movie in the saga is self-titled, Twilight. It follows Bella Swan’s (Stewart) move from the warmth of Arizona to the cold and rainy Washington state. Bella moves into her father and Fork’s police chief Charlie’s (Billy Burke) home.
She attends Fork high school. Immediately, Edward Cullen (Pattinson) captivates her attention until she professes she is “unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”
There’s only one problem, Edward is a vampire. True, he is a “vegetarian” vampire, but his thirst for Bella’s blood makes it difficult for him. In addition, he is a mindreader but cannot read her thoughts.
It creates a hot and cold exchange between the two before she discovers his secret. But, despite the dangers, the “Lion falls in love with the lamb,” and Bella embraces Edward’s supernatural world.
The Cullens

She meets the Cullen vampire family, who are eager and excited, except for Rosalie Hale (Nikki Reed). Rosalie is less than enthused about Bella due to a treaty with the Quileute tribe and the vampire laws enforced by the Volturi.
Nonetheless, her “monkey man,” Emmett (Kellan Lutz), is accepting. Esme (Elizabeth Reaser) and Carlise (Petter Facinelli) are the parents who, for all intents and purposes, “adopt” vampire siblings Alice (Ashley Greene), Jasper Hale (Jackson Rathbone), Edward, and Rosalie.
Eventually, a pack of vampires passing through picks up on Bella’s scent during the iconic vampire baseball game scene. And a tracker named James (Cam Gigandet) marks her for the hunt. So the Cullen clan works together to protect Bella to the detriment of their safety.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon
In New Moon, Alice Cullen throws Bella an unwanted birthday party at the Cullen’s residence, and things go awry. After Bella suffers a paper cut, the smell of her blood causes Jasper to attack.
Fortunately, the family keeps Jasper from getting to Bella Swan. However, it causes Edward to fear her safety. So he abandons her and promises, “it will be like I never existed.”
So the Cullen family is gone overnight, but it’s not like that for a heartbroken Bella. We watch the camera pan around an unshowered and depressed-looking Bella to Lykke Li’s “Possibility.”
Months pass by, and the seasons change before she starts hanging out with her friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
Jacob helps her out of her depression as they build “two-wheeled death machines” together. She feels better when she’s around Jake, but when alone, she painfully misses Edward. Jacob begins to distance himself from Bella by refusing her calls.
The Wolves

Finally, she shows up to discover a shirtless Black in the pouring rain. Eventually, she learns he’s gone through the change, is a werewolf who kills vampires, and now knows the Cullen family’s secret.
Additionally, Jame’s mate, Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), wants revenge for his death. Fortunately, the wolves keep chasing her off. Eventually, Alice comes back for Bella.
Unfortunately, Edward believes Bella is dead from a misinterpreted vision of Alices. So he goes to Italy to see the Volturi and asks to be killed. The Volturi is essentially vampire royalty.
Their role is to enforce the few laws that vampires have. Ultimately, Bella and Alice race to save him and end up in a volatile situation that the trio must work together to survive.

The twilight saga: Eclipse
- Amazon Prime Video
In Twilight’s next installment, Eclipse, we meet a new Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) with a vengeance in her heart. Victoria sends Laurent (Edi Gathegi) to see if she is still under the protection of the Cullens.
Then, Victoria chooses Riley Biers (Xavier Samuel) as a mate to manipulate so that Alice can’t see her pulling the strings. Finally, they create an army of newborn vampires to defeat the Cullens and kill Bella.
So the Quileute tribe team up with the Cullen coven to keep Bella and Charlie safe while hunting Victoria. Eclipse divides fans into two groups, Team Edward and Team Jacob. Eventually, Bella asks Jacob to kiss her and discovers she loves him too.

However, she loves Edward more and begs Jake not to make her choose between him and Edward. Because “it will be him, it’s always been him.”
While the Volturi enforce the laws, some follow at a close distance and do nothing. Sadly, Jane (Dakota Fanning) appears in control of their decision to allow Riley and Victoria to create the newborns that are wreaking havoc in Seattle.
An epic battle of werewolves and vampires ensues before the Volturi show up and discover that Bella is still human. Despite the arrangement made on New Moon that saved their lives. Bella Swan finally agrees to marry Edward Cullen.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
- Amazon Prime Video
Bella and Edward tie the knot in the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2. Alice Cullen planned it. So it’s a beautifully overdone wedding with awkward toasts for the bride and groom.
For example, Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is jealous that Edward “The Hair” Cullen wasn’t interested in her, which spills over in her speech. Additionally, Charlie talks about hunting bad guys to the end of the Earth.
Nonetheless, Jacob Black shows up to surprise Bella after being gone for months. However, he gets angry when he discovers that she and Edward will consummate the marriage while she’s still human.
So the wolf pack retrieves him, and the newlyweds set off for their honeymoon on a private island, Isle Esme. Edward and Bella make love but destroy the bedroom in the making.
In addition, Bella becomes immediately pregnant with a vampire hybrid. So naturally, they both freak out. However, Edward is eager to remove “that thing” from her, and she is excited to have a baby.

Once the werewolves learn about it, they decide the treaty is null and void and that “it” needs to be destroyed. “It” being the baby. Jacob doesn’t stand for it, and he, Seth (Booboo Stewart), and Leah Clearwater (Julia Jones) break free from the pack.
Bella craves and drinks human blood. But then she has a back-breaking experience and delivers without Carlisle’s assistance, and Edward pumps her full of his venom.
The wolves surround the Cullen’s home as baby Renesmee is born. A battle to the death ensues, but Jacob ends it once and for all after imprinting on Renesmee.
The wolves have laws too, and they can’t harm whoever a wolf imprints on, “It’s their most absolute law.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
- Amazon Prime Video
In the final installment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2, Bella Swan finally transforms into a vampire. So it begins with Edward taking her out for her first hunt. Surprisingly, she demonstrates control around a mountain climber with a minor cut.
When she returns, she dukes it out with Jacob because he imprinted on “Nessie.” Later, we discover that Bella is a shield, so that is why the vampires can’t use their gifts on her. For example, why Edward could never read her mind.
After their cousin Irina (Maggie Grace) sees Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), she goes to Italy to inform the Volturi the Cullens created an immortal child. So Aro (Michael Sheen) and the Volturi gather an army of vampires to annihilate the Cullen coven.

The Cullens gather witnesses to defend the reality that Renesmee didn’t get bit; she was born. So, unlike the outlawed immortal children, Renesmee grows every day.
However, Aro has no interest in retreating because he wants Alice for himself. After all, she can see the future before it happens.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 ends with an epic battle vision in the snow that shocks with unsuspecting deaths of beloved characters. For people who read the books, it throws a curve ball. It’s one of the best film endings in history and an epic love story.
