Star Wars remains one of the world’s most popular franchises, with Jedi: Survivor being the latest triple-A game to hit platforms. However, Ubisoft seems to be hoping to rival the Electronic Arts Jedi games with its own open-world Star Wars game sooner than anyone thought.
They currently have some huge franchise titles on the horizon, including Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and the swashbuckling Skull and Bones are all on the imminent release docket
Announced in 2021, the currently titled Project Helix is in development by Massive, who has previously worked on The Division 1 and 2. A spokesperson for Ubisoft responded to these comments with, “We don’t comment on rumors or speculation.”
The company has had only two major releases in the last year, Just Dance 23 and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Both Skull and Bones and Avatar were due for release last year but have been delayed, with the current release for Avatar set only as 2023.
The upcoming Ubisoft showcase on June 12 will reveal the company’s next slate of big releases and updates on expected mobile and free-to-play versions of some of its major series.
