Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is about to kick off (I swear…any minute…after multiple delays), so we thought we would look back and create a list of all the Fortnite seasons ranked! This season marks the 30th season in Fortnite since 2017, and many players have stuck by the game through good seasons and bad the entire time.
I’m ranking these Fortnite seasons based on gameplay, new additions, advances to the mechanics within the game, and how much fun I had tearing up the map with my squad. But first, here’s a sneak peek at Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2, “Myths and Mortals.”
Lasting only a few weeks before Season 1 was introduced, Pre-Season featured no cosmetics, and players were limited to the Recruit Outfits and default cosmetic items.
Season 1, the first official season of Fortnite Battle Royale, was released on Thursday, October 26th, 2017, and introduced the Item Shop and Season Shop, allowing players to purchase cosmetics with their characters.
Season 7 ran for just over three months, from Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, until Sunday, September 12th, 2021, and was given the name of “Invasion”. With a name like that, you can probably guess the season’s theme: the conflict between alien invaders and the IO forces.
Flying Saucers litter the map and are piloted by enemies called Trespassers, and Holly Hedges changed into Holly Hatchery. There were also three locations on the map that were plucked from the ground by some of the Flying Saucers and would hover in the sky above the map.
The Battle Pass got another reworking as Battle Stars made their way back. This time, however, each time the player leveled up, they would be granted 5 Battle Stars, which can then be used to purchase Battle Pass items at their leisure.
