What to Expect from the Nintendo Direct on September 13th

Multiple Blue Rings

Nintendo announced this morning on Twitter that they will be hosting a Nintendo Direct.

The live stream begins on Tuesday, September 13th, at 7:00 AM Pacific. It will run for approximately 40 minutes and focus “mostly” on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter.

First, here’s a look at all the currently known first-party Nintendo games that could see a release in that winter timeframe:

– Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Bayonetta 3 (October 28th, 2022 release date, so technically not winter) – Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet (Releasing November 18th and just had a new trailer)

That’s it! Games like Hollow Knight: Silksong could technically release in the Winter timeframe, but that one is expected to release Spring/Summer of 2023.

So what should we expect from this Nintendo Direct?

The first and most obvious answer is news regarding the upcoming Breath of the Wild sequel. Mum’s been the word for quite some time, and a full-fledged Direct seems the perfect chance to reveal some new information.

Could this finally be the time we see Metroid-related news? The Metroid Prime trilogy ranks amongst the best games in the Metroid franchise.
