Will Call of Duty: Vanguard Have Zombies?

The latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise, titled Vanguard, is getting its grand reveal this week. The game was leaked earlier this week from an early listing on the PlayStation Store. It looks set to return to the series’ historic roots. Aside from the multiplayer component, the most popular mode in Call of Duty is the horde-based Zombies mode. If you’re wondering whether Vanguard will contain a Zombies portion, we’ve got you covered.

Yes, Call of Duty: Vanguard will include a Zombies mode. This detail was confirmed on August 19, when preorders for the game went live. According to the game’s store page on Battle.net, Vanguard will include a Zombies mode developed by Treyarch Studios.

We expected it, of course, based on the previous Call of Duty game that was made by Vanguard’s developer Sledgehammer Games. In 2017, the studio released Call of Duty: WWII, which featured an extensive Zombies mode. It included The Final Reich as a free map on launch. From there, two DLC maps were released: The Darkest Shore, and The Shadowed Throne.

Therefore, it seemed only logical that Sledgehammer Games would continue its tradition of including Zombies mode. Most Call of Duty games set in the past have the mode, as it’s often centered around Nazi soldiers coming back from the dead. The game doesn’t necessarily need to take place during World War 2, either, since Zombies themselves are more of a genre staple than a historical adversary.

Rejoice, undead slayers, because Call of Duty: Vanguard will include a Zombies mode. We’re still waiting to learn more details, but we do know it was put together by the team at Treyarch. We’re sure to learn more details as Vanguard creeps even closer to its release date later this year.
