Elden Ring is the sprawling open-world game from FromSoftware, who effectively created the Soulslike genre. It’s an ambitious title, developed for Soulsborne fans, mixed with the wild mind of author George R.R. Martin. In The Lands Between, players will discover all manner of bosses, enemies, and even weapons that have appeared in previous FromSoftware titles. However, one question remains: Is it on Game Pass? Can players who subscribe to Microsoft’s service check the game out for free?
Is Elden Ring Coming to Game Pass?
Elden Ring isn’t on Game Pass, and we don’t have any reason to believe its coming any time soon. Bandai Namco hasn’t shared any plans to launch the game on Microsoft’s subscription service.
Granted, that’s not much of a surprise this close to launch. That’s especially true considering this is FromSoftware’s biggest game yet. For now, if you want to check out the Lands Between, you’ll need to purchase your own copy of Elden Ring.
Of course, if the game ever does come to Game Pass, it would most likely be way after release. While both first-party games and smaller indies arrive on Game Pass day-one, triple-A releases from outside publishers usually take a while. It’s easy to understand why; if players are buzzing, they’re more likely to buy the game.
For those who are crossing their fingers, hoping that Elden Ring will be making the jump to Game Pass, it might be better to purchase it now. However, it’s easy to understand that some people might not want to spend money on a game that they’re not completely sure that they want to play. This is understandable, since FromSoftware games aren’t for everyone. Thankfully, Elden Ring isn’t really as hard as other Soulslike games. With that said, if you want to try out the formula and don’t want to spend too much cash, you can always pick up Dark Souls at a discount.
