YouTube: How To Stop Asking To Verify Your Age

YouTube, one of the largest online video sharing and social media platforms in the digitalized world, continues to improve itself day by day. Aiming to enrich the user experience of users through publishing new updates, the company also aims to protect its users from unwanted videos by applying different usage policies.

YouTube’s age policy comes first among these usage policies. In some cases, the age policy restricts you to watch videos, making it difficult to watch videos that are not suitable for those under the age of 18.

We will tell you how to stop YouTube from asking to verify your age in this article.

How To Stop YouTube Asking To Verify Your Age

YouTube, which is a social media platform that users can easily share videos and earn income from these video shares, has 1.86 billion users in 2021 according to Statista.

The social media platform has a large user/audience base and it also has a video sharing policy. YouTube is removing videos uploaded by users who do not comply with this policy. These unwanted video shares include issues such as copyrighted video sharing.

In addition, YouTube has also set certain watching policies on the user side. One of the most important of these policies is the age policy. Age information of the users registered to YouTube is kept a record by the application and videos suitable for those over 18 years old cannot be watched according to this age criterion.

This policy, which aims to prevent users under 18 years from being exposed to certain videos, can be annoying in some cases. For instance, if you select your birthday incorrectly when first registering to the application, you may be subject to YouTube’a age verification.

There are multiple ways to prevent YouTube from constantly asking for age verification.

Firstly, you can open the profile menu by clicking on your profile picture in the top right and turning off the “Restricted Mode” at the bottom of that section. You can watch YouTube’s age-restricted videos without age verification.

Secondly, you can log out of your YouTube account, and log in with a different Google account. On the other hand, for this way, your second account must be 18 years old on the relevant date. If you don’t have a second Google account, you can open a new one and register your age over 18. You can bypass YouTube’s age verification policy.
