Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Life Medal | How to Get

Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Life Medal

If you’ve collected all of the hearts in Zelda: Skyward Sword, you might realize something surprising; there are less heart containers in Skyward Sword than in any other Zelda game in the main series! With slightly fewer heart containers through normal means, there’s a new opportunity to become more durable. The Life Medal is a fairly rare item, but it will offer you a new way to get tanky… And with all of these motion controls, extra hearts should be a fairly high priority!

How to Get the Life Medal in Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Life Medal

In order to obtain a Life Medal in Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, you’ll have to purchase one from Beedle. The strange shopkeeper sells the life buffing token for 800 rupees, once his inventory opens up a bit. To use the medal, equip it as part of your Pouch, and you’ll gain an empty heart container to play around with. There is another Life Medal in the game, but you cannot get that until you get the Goddess Cube in the desert.

Beedle’s medal is available fairly early on, but it has the high asking price of 800 rupees. That’s not exactly easy to come by in a standard game. However, with enough practice at the various minigames scattered across Skyloft and the Surface, you’ll collect them in no time. Just make sure to upgrade your wallet a time or two beforehand!

The Life Medal in the Lanayru Desert is available once you get your Clawshot. It’s near the edge of the map on a fairly easy to notice platform. Smack it open and you’ll get another Life Medal for free!

The only downside of these medals is that you need to have them in your pouch. Otherwise, they’re exactly like Heart Containers! Though they start empty; no using them to get extra health during hard boss fights! You need to fill them in advance.
