INDIE Games

Two months in, 2024 has already seen some stellar indie releases. This upcoming week is no exception, with a new flood of interesting indies coming to every platform you can imagine. Here’s our roundup of this week’s new releases for February 19th through the 25th.

This sequel to developer Thomas Waterzooi’s 2020 game expands on the original game’s question, “What if you did touch the artwork?” Walk through classic works of art, solve puzzles, interact with the subjects, and find hidden objects.

A game that I somehow missed on PC, this journey into madness from developer Sometimes You looks right up my street: it features a sock puppet with a silky smooth voice, time travel, cooking, and nightmarish hellscapes. The game has you traveling through time to steal recipes for profit. This fever dream comes to Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

WOLFENSTEIN RPG The core gameplay is the same, but Wolfenstein’s story, style, and lore help to put the game over the top.

In stark contrast to psychedelic socks comes a cute and minimalist platformer from developer EastAsiaSoft. This black and white sidescroller features an adorable frog protagonist and 100 levels to jump through.

Run, hop, and wall side through levels inspired by Geometry Dash, Super Meat Boy, and classic platformers. It will be hopping onto Nintendo Switch.

We reviewed Inkulianti last year and enjoyed our time. Now, we’re excited to include it in our roundup of new indie games releasing this week.

Turn-based, ink-filled, and inspired by medieval art, this bizarre strategy game is coming out of early access. Based on the strange medieval art that is endlessly memed online, developer Yaza Games has created a funny and uniquely styled game filled with interesting classes of warriors with a combination of devasting and ridiculous attacks and counters.

Another survival game with a supernatural bend, Pacific Drive from developer Ironwood Studios has another twist up its sleeve. Set in a surreal and shifting landscape of the Pacific Northwest, you must drive your trusty station wagon into an exclusion zone to scavenge for supplies to survive.
