Cuphead Has Officially Released on the PlayStation 4

Cuphead PlayStation 4 Release

Surprise! Cuphead is now available to download and play on the PlayStation 4! The game was spotted on the PlayStation Store on July 27 and its release was officially confirmed by developers on July 28 in a tweet stating that Cuphead is now available on the PlayStation 4.

In a tweet seen below, developers shared that players are now able to purchase Cuphead from the PlayStation Store, ahead of the release of the Delicious Last Course DLC. At the time of writing, the DLC does not yet have a release date and will be released “when it’s ready,” according to StudioMDHR’s Maja Moldenhauer.

If you’d like to purchase Cuphead on your PS4, simply head to the online Store and search for it. You’ll quickly find the game, which costs $20, and can download it and begin playing. Further, the PS4 version will also receive the Delicious Last Course DLC whenever it is released.

The cartoony run and gun was originally released in September 2017 for PC and Xbox One and then came to the Nintendo Switch in April 2019. While a PS4 release initially seemed unlikely, once the game released on Switch, some had hope that the Cuphead would one day see a release on a PlayStation console, and it looks like that day is today.

Cuphead is one of the most unique games in recent memory, allowing two players to take control of Cuphead and Mugman to fight a variety of bosses as they work to repay their debt to the devil. The game is challenging, aesthetically pleasing, and has sold over six million copies since its release.

In fact, it was so well received that it was recently picked up by Netflix for an animated series. At the time of writing, the animated series does not have a specific release date but is expected to be released sometime in 2021 on Netflix.
