Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has a lot of different quests for you to explore. There are even quest chains that you occasionally work your way through, which really makes the environment richer. So, during one of these quest chains, you’ll need to make a decision; should you accuse Theodoros or Mestor of the crime against Herodotos? This Samos-based quest brings you through all sorts of ups and downs, so choosing correctly might be important for you. That is one emotional journey, so the correct choice is critical!
Followers of Truth | Theodoros or Mestor Choice
You choose between Theodoros or Mestor in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey during the Followers of Truth Quest. Choosing Mestor causes Theodoros to lose his grudge against you. Mestor also happens to be the correct choice either way; he is the one who killed Herodotos’s parents and potentially ruined the island of Samos for a generation.
No matter who you choose in Followers of Truth, the story plays out more or less the same. The only difference is that choosing Mestor will make Theodoros happier with you, and thus you’ll make a friend. Mestor is, shockingly, not going to be much of a friend with you; he’s a little busy doing crime to hold much of a grudge!
After this quest comes the Defense of Samos quest, a ship-based encounter where you have to take down some enemy Persians. A little bit of fun, and a very simple quest in general (as long as your ship is up to date!). After defending Samos, it’s time to get rid of Herodotos; he’s got a new life to live, now that Mestor is out of his hair. And he should have a new friend in Theodoros, so that’s pretty nice.
Unfortunately, other than choosing Mestor, none of the other choices in this questline matters. Just make sure that Mestor is your culprit after Followers of Truth and you’ll get basically maximum rewards from this quest.
