The action RPG Ghost of Tsushima is absolutely gorgeous; the story is enchanting, the action is riveting, and the environments are jaw-dropping. And that’s all on the PS4 version! Imagining what is possible on the most modern generation of console makes this game even more spectacular! The Ghost of Tsushima PS5 upgrade is a huge question on everyone’s mind. While the game is definitely going to look stellar, owners of the PS4 version have reason to worry. Will there be a standard upgrade? Or are we going to look fondly at new players experiencing the game in ridiculous quality?
Does Ghost of Tsushima Have a PS5 Upgrade?
Yes, Ghost of Tsushima has a PS5 upgrade, but it is not free for previous owners of the game. If you own a PS4 version, you must pay to upgrade to either the PS5 version, or to the PS4 Director’s Cut version. Players with the PS4 Director’s Cut version of Ghost of Tsushima will get a discount when upgrading to the PS5 version.
Upgrading from PS4 to the PS4 Director’s Cut costs $19.99. This upgrade includes the Iki Island expansion, co-op, and awesome out-of-game accessories.
Alternatively, you can upgrade straight to the PS5 Director’s Cut for $30. This’ll give you all of the benefits of a PS5 console Ghost of Tsushima. In addition, you’ll get the DLC, commentary, digital art book, and the other content from the Cut.
If you purchased the PS4 Director’s Cut, then the upgrade to the PS5 edition will cost a mere $10.
To upgrade, load the disk into the PlayStation Store and select the specific upgrade path. This means you can ensure that you meet the necessary parameters before purchasing something willy-nilly. As long as you have any PS4 version – physical or digital – then you can use the store to upgrade to modern consoles.
