Does Ghost of Tsushima Have Dismemberment?

Ghost of Tsushima Dismemberment

The samurai game you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived with Sucker Punch’s latest release, Ghost of Tsushima. In it, players will yield a katana that they will use to defend the island of Tsushima from the Mongol forces. Since the game puts a heavy focus on precision hits with the katana, lots of players are wondering if Ghost of Tsushima has dismemberment or not. Let’s take a look.

How to Perform a Ghost of Tsushima Dismemberment

Simply put, yes, players can dismember opponents in Ghost of Tsushima, however, they will not have control of it. This means that in fights, Jin Sakai will be able to disremember an enemy, but the player won’t have any control over which body part gets chopped off. For example, when attacking an enemy, Jin may cut off their head or maybe their hand, but the players won’t have any control over which part gets dismembered.

If you’ve already started to play the game and haven’t seen the Ghost of Tsushima dismemberment feature in action, just give it time. You’ll be fighting a lot of enemies in your journey to save the island, so it’ll happen sooner or later. Some players have had luck triggering a dismemberment by doing an ariel attack from high ground, but it’s really hard to say exactly how to perform one.

However, since the game can take 40+ hours to play through, there should be plenty of opportunities to see the Ghost of Tsushima dismemberment feature in action. Further, if you do some of the side quests and free strongholds, you’ll increase your chances.

Ghost of Tsushima is set in the year 1274 and takes place on the island of Tsushima, the only place standing between the Mongol Empire’s expansion into Japan. As the sole survivor of his clan, Jin Sakai must learn the way of the Ghost if he wants to have a shot at saving his home and his people. Ghost of Tsushima is currently available on the PlayStation 4.
