Halo Infinite Slayer Playlists Are Coming in a New Update

Brian Jarrard, Halo Community Manager for 343, announced an update to slayer playlists for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

A much-requested feature since the launch of multiplayer has been Slayer playlists. Specifically, for modes such as SWAT, free-for-all, and others. On an update planned for December 14th, Halo Infinite will be getting those playlists.

Hey everyone – Last weekend I said I’d be back once we had updates to share around near term playlist plans for Halo Infinite. I’m happy to report that Slayer playlists are offically locked and loaded for the update next week. Four new playlists: Slayer, Fiesta, FFA, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT) will be added via a services update on Tuesday,, Dec. 14.

The new Slayer playlists will allow Halo Infinite players to stick with the game mode they most want to enjoy. Currently, the multiplayer quickplay throws in various game modes such as Oddball, Capture the Flag, Strongholds, and Slayer. This means if you want to play Slayer specifically, you have to hope chance is on your side. The update will allow people to not leave things up to chance and play the mode they want.

343 Industries continues to address issues with Halo Infinite multiplayer. These playlist updates are just one of many that have gone live since the game’s launch.

The December 14th update will allow include challenge adjustments. Jarrard mentions that they’ll remove some “particularly frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenging less intensive, and adding brand new challenges specific to the new playlists.”

In addition, an update for Big Team Battle stability was recently added.
