The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is soon opening its doors to any ambitious student in Hogwarts Legacy. Developed by Avalanche Software with publication by Warner Bros. Games, this new single-player experience places the player in the center of a fantastic tale. The journey can stem from one activity to another, with an expansive story for witches and wizards to discover and learn from. Harry Potter fans can expect the next-gen release of the game to appear on February 10, 2023. But can Game Pass owners expect Hogwarts Legacy to be a part of the service upon release? Let’s find out!
Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming to Game Pass?
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy will not be joining the Game Pass library. Any recent reports and announcements from the above-mentioned teams have not confirmed any Game Pass involvement. Given that this is Warner Bros. Games’ next big RPG, it ultimately checks out that the single-player fantasy title is available only through purchase.
Although this can always change in the future, we’re not expecting Hogwarts Legacy to be added to Game Pass. There’s plenty of anticipation surrounding the release of the game, propelling itself to a high-priority mark where many are flocking to the titular school. Although there are other Warner Bros. Games-published titles on the service (such as Mortal Kombat 11, Back 4 Blood, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga), the ones that lean more toward the triple-A spectrum of video gaming aren’t a part of the package.
Some of those titles that we’ve recently seen include Gotham Knights and Hitman: Blood Money. Even though the player base isn’t where it was for these two games now, they aren’t available to play with the Game Pass. In truth, it seems that Warner Bros. Games is selective with the titles that they can offer to the Xbox-centered service. Some LEGO games are available to download while others are left in the Microsoft Store.
However, Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Injustice (1 and 2) received significant attention from players and critics. They eventually joined the Game Pass family later on in their lifetimes. That goes to say that perhaps the same can be applied to Hogwarts Legacy. But since the title is releasing within three different launch windows, it may be a while until a Game Pass discussion is put in play for the Harry Potter title.
Hogwarts Legacy is releasing on February 10, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; PS4 and Xbox One will receive their copy on April 4; Nintendo Switch owners will register for classes starting on July 25.
