Where to Find the Soul Seed in Paper Mario: The Origami King

There are two locations for the Soul Seed in Paper Mario: The Origami King. The first is in the golden ball before you meet Ol’ Gransappy and the second is by the lake. Essentially, you’ll need to get the Shriveled Seed from the golden ball and then toss it into the lake to rehydrate it and turn it into a Soul Seed. You may already have the Shriveled Seed, but if not, we’ll explain below.

To get the Shriveled Seed, first pull the vine under the golden ball. It will break off, so you’ll have to hit the tree behind the ball with Mario’s hammer to reveal a 1,000-Fold Arms spot. Use the arms to pop open the ball and the Shriveled Seed will fall out. Pick it up and Oliva will explain that it needs to be hydrated. With the Shriveled Seed in hand, now you just need to know where to find the Soul Seed in Paper Mario: The Origami King.

Head back to Ol’Gransappy and go down the path to your right, which will lead you towards the lake. Head down the path and battle the Goomba’s until you reach a platform in front of the lake. Stand on it and you’ll be able to take the Shriveled Seed out of your inventory, toss it into the lake, and turn it into a Soul Seed.

Now that you’ve got the Soul Seed in hand, take it back to Ol’ Gransappy and give it to him. He will thank you and sing a short song for you before opening up a new pathway that will allow you to head into Toad Town.
