Skyrim Restoration Loop - How to Use

There’s a reason why The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is such an enormous success. It’s a huge game, and it still has secrets left undiscovered to this day. However, some of the game’s biggest draws are its more unintended charms. Take the Restoration Loop, which can make your character the most powerful entity in all of Tamriel. This little trick takes advantage of two interrelated systems, resulting in stats so high they could crash your system. Needless to say, this is one method you should approach cautiously.

How to Use the Restoration Loop in Skyrim

To use the Restoration loop in Skyrim, you first need to find the Fortify Alchemy enchantment. The loop requires you to repeatedly apply this enchantment while under the effects of a Fortify Enchantment potion. By looping between enchanting and potion crafting, you can increase your power well beyond the game’s intended limits.

Here’s how to get started. After you’ve got the Fortify Alchemy enchantment as well as a decent enchantment stat, head to an enchantment table. Once there, imbue an armor piece with the Fortify Alchemy enchantment. Equip it, then head to your alchemy table and craft a Fortify Enchantment potion. Drink it, and then restart the process over again; enchant another piece of armor, craft another potion, and so on.

By repeating this process, your enchantment power will soon grow exponentially. This allows you to make ridiculously effective potions and, in turn, highly overpowered gear. However, you should exercise caution. If you keep repeating the process, you could possibly crash your game. Players on the Skyrim subreddit recommend ending the loop when your Fortify potions are around 36,000%. Just to be safe, you may wish to stop quite a bit before reaching that number — you’ll already be absurdly powerful.

In other words, the Restoration loop is downright broken, much like the silverware glitch. There are conflicting reports on whether or not it still works, too. Considering how many platforms Skyrim is available for, that’s not much of a surprise. However, the principle of the loop has remained the same ever since The Elder Scrolls 5 first released. Try it out and see what happens; just don’t let yourself go overboard and crash the game.
