Uncharted was first released by Sony all the way back in 2007. It was a hit. There have been a number of sequels and the franchise has become one of the greatest sellers of all time.

Just a year into the game’s release, in 2008, there were already talks about adapting it into a film. There have been numerous attempts at making that happen.

Mark Wahlberg was connected in 2010. Seth Rogan and Chris Pratt turned down opportunities to be involved. But now, 13 years later, the film is finally coming.

Mark Wahlberg is still a part of the project and will be playing Sully Sullivan. And starring at Nathan Drake is Marvel’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland.

This week, the first trailer for the film was dropped by Sony Pictures.

Holland is excited for people to see the movie. He recently said of his role:

“I think there are elements of my performance in ‘Uncharted’ where I kind of fell under that spell of being ‘I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment.’ I had to play this very tough, very stoic guy — basically be Mark Wahlberg. My character is supposed to be a f**king action hero in this moment! Look, I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know if I succeeded in that. But it was an important lesson learned, because, at times, it was less about land a mark and go through this scene and more about land a mark, stand like this and see my bulging biceps. … It was a mistake and is something that I will probably never do again.”
