Warzone 2 Proximity Chat - How to Turn On

The reimagined Call of Duty Warzone 2 delivers lots of new content to make the battle royale a refreshing and exciting experience. There’s a new circle mechanic to shake up the late-game, plus a redesigned and refreshing Gulag. On top of that, Warzone 2.0 has also received a new hardcore extraction game mode called DMZ. Still, one new feature both the battle royale and DMZ game mode share is proximity chat. So, if you’re wondering how to turn on proximity chat in Warzone 2.0, this guide will show you exactly how.

To enable proximity chat in Warzone 2.0, head over to “Settings,” then select the “Audio” tab. From there, locate the “Proximity Chat” option to turn it on or off. With the feature turned on, other players will be able to hear you in the pre-game lobby and in close proximity on the battlefield. Doing so can make for some hilarious moments joking around with players as you’re fighting.

On the other hand, owing to Call of Duty’s “somewhat” toxic nature, proximity chat can make trash talk even more intense. If you decide to turn it off, then you won’t be able to hear players with it turned on, and consequently, they won’t be able to hear you. This is sometimes nice, especially if you’re in a voice party with friends and aren’t looking to vocally engage with your opponents, but rather let the bullets do the talking.

Because Warzone 2.0 has proximity chat, it begs the question of whether Modern Warfare 2 has it as well. Unfortunately, for the time being, the feature is limited to Warzone 2.0. There has been no word from the developers on whether they will add it to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, but there is still plenty of time for it to be implemented if they decide to do so.
